Floating Article
When we set an article as a floating article, it will float into the top of the next article. We can set the float width and float alignment of left, right, or center.
Left and right floats will have text flowing around them. The center float will not have any text flowing around it, just above and below it. When we give the floated article a name it does not automatically float This is an unnamed floating article. The float macro lets us insert the named floating article into any other article any number of times. The float macro also lets us override the width and alignment settings specified in the floated article. You can set the page of the floating article to 'all' to make the article available on all pages. Again, those floating articles for 'all' pages will display at the top (viewable only by the admin) until referenced by a float macro in one or more locations on the page. Floating articles may need the background color set to avoid having the background colors of the non-floating article from showing 'through' the article. Members have 'images', 'gallery', and 'media' areas.
Admins have a links at the top to update these areas: Non-admin users don't need those links to get to the image browser. You can get there by clicking on 'IMG' in the links underneath articles. While in the image browser you can upload images and optionally select an image for your article. On a page where non-admin users have article posting privileges, the admin can provide update links for galleries by using then select 'Gallery Update' to create an update link. Name this link 'Update Images'. Create another gallery update link on that new article by clicking on 'MAC' in the article's admin links. Again, select 'Gallery Update' and use Change base folder to */Lobby * /images * /media to change to the /Lobby, then name the update link 'Update Gallery'. The members images folder is actually /images/members/userid, but /images is translated to the proper folder by the image browser. This allows using only one link for admin and non-admin users. Clicking on 'Update Gallery' or 'Update Images' takes you to the image browser. The 'images' folder is used for your article images. The 'gallery' folder can be used for image collections. To insert an image in an article, click on 'MAC' in the article's admin links. Choose 'Image' for the image macro. You will have an image selection page where you can select an image from the picklist. You can change the image folder at the top of the page. Click on a thumbnail file name (file name begins with tn-) or a full sized image file name to insert that image into your article. It is preferable to use thumbnails. Thumbnails can be resized without resizing the full-sized image. You can create or resize a thumbnail by clicking on Makethumbnail to make or re-make a thumbnail image. Thumbnails can be sized by:
Any thumbnail displayed in an article will have a link to the full sized image. Clicking on a thumbnail displays the full sized image in a pop-up window. The maximum image upload size will be displayed on the upload form. Only bmp, gif, jpg, and png file types are allowed.
